Hello, it's great to see so many new names signing up to our petition!
By now you'll probably be aware of the Council's survey report that it's promoting to suggest that there is significant public support for this project.
Those with professional expertise in our group have analysed this and found it to be misleading at best, and we are now even more strongly calling for ANDB Council to save the beauty and character of the North Down Coastal Path, and to put the greenway investment in a more appropriate location.
We just wanted you to know that if you can't get along to the Council's public meeting tonight, Council Chamber, Bangor Town Hall, 6.30-8.30 6pm, in person, you can watch it live by following this link. It would be great if people did tune in to demonstrate the strength of interest.

There were a huge number came to attend the Donaghadee meeting last night, and because of sheer numbers many were turned away at the door. We expect the same might happen this evening, and feel strongly that this is an indicator in itself that the council's public 'engagement' on these plans is woefully inadequate. How can these plans reflect the desire of the community when the meetings held to 'engage' are so overwhelmed with those opposing the current plans that people can't get in?
If you haven't already done so, please take a look at our Facebook page where we have been consistently uploading all the planning drawings for this huge application, and giving a degree of commentary on the details, as we understand them. And as usual, if you have any expertise and are willing to help, please get in touch via Facebook or emailing us at foranotherpath@gmail.com
This Thursday, 26 January, there will be a discussion at the full council meeting on whether to accept the findings of the council's recent survey, and move on. Now is a good time to write to your local councillors (this link will help www.writetothem.com to ask them to support our call to pull this planning application off the table and have a serious rethink, before more public money is poured into a project that the public demonstrably do not support, in its current form.
More updates soon! Please get in touch!
