While the fight to get Arby’s to ban some of the cruelest forms of animal abuse in its supply chain carries on, Mercy For Animals has joined a coalition of animal protection organizations to take on McDonald’s. Chickens in McDonald’s supply chain are bred to grow so large that they often can’t walk without pain. They live their entire lives in dark, cramped factory farms, sitting in their own waste and breathing acrid ammonia. This is animal abuse, and there is no excuse for it.
