hey followers - I'm still determined and persistent in creating a book of inspirational stories about Recreational Therapy. It must happen. IT will happen. I want RT to be a household name in America. No more of people asking, "What sector is that?" Laugh aloud. A person in Chicago asked, "what conference is going on over there?" It was ATRA 2016. I told him Recreational Therapy. He asked me, "what sector is that?" I let him know RT is for all ages - and in various areas: mental health, physical medicine and rehab, the community, geriatrics, and developmental disables to name a few. But the big goal - people will know. they won't have to ask (after this book project is completed. I’m very happy and grateful that I have an opportunity to spend a day with Patty Aubrey on June 24th. Patty was the person who sat down at an old apple computer with the black screen and green letters to type out the original Chicken Soup for the Soul book. She is the president of Jack Canfield’s companies. I find her very likeable and agreeable. She is kind and caring. She is letting me spend a day with her (at her home) with other amazing people who want to teach success principles. Some things I want to learn from Patty: • Tips on getting permission statements from authors who submit stories • Getting people to read stories. I want 40 people to review each story and decide if it should be in the book or out of the book. • Tips on getting testimonials for the book, from people her (Patty) and (Jack). • How to get on major public television: Oprah, Today show, radio shows. • How to get a TED Talk scheduled. Keep an eye out for updates.
