The Situation: I received an email complaint that one of the people who signed this wishes to “un-sign” the petition because the petition and work towards this outcome is just too much. Our team has persisted at attempts to persuade Chicken Soup for six consecutive months. We’ve sent them over 1,000 postcards from recreational therapists around the country. We’ve made phone calls. We’ve sent hundreds of emails. We’ve had a press release hit over 200 news outlets about our petition. We almost got 500 people to sign and the book publisher wanted over a million signatures. My Feelings: I feel we gave it our best effort. We did what we could for six straight months. I feel like it might be in the best interest if I give up this project. My Requests: a.) Please accept that I am going to end this petition if we don’t have 10,000+ signatures by Saturday, March 25th – which is highly unlikely. b.) Let me know if you have another book publisher in mind who might want to do our book.
