The community of St James Church of Christ Disciples of Christ in Rose Hill, NC, has been grappling with a significant leadership issue for almost two decades. Under the stewardship of Elder Willie James, the congregation feels voiceless and marginalized. Concerns have been continually raised about the integrity and spiritual leadership within the church, citing hypocrisy as a critical issue that detracts from our collective mission to follow the teachings of Christ genuinely.

It is essential for houses of worship to ensure their leaders embody the principles and values they preach. When a religious leader fails to do so, it not only undermines the trust and respect of the congregation but also erodes the spiritual foundation on which the community is built. Many church members have expressed their dissatisfaction and disillusionment, feeling ignored and neglected.

To revitalize our faith community, we seek to appoint a new pastor who exemplifies the values intrinsic to the teachings of Christ—compassion, integrity, and genuine leadership. We need a leader who not only preaches these values but also practices them in their daily life, inspiring the congregation to follow suit.

Given the growing dissatisfaction and the urgent need for change, we call upon the church board and relevant authorities to take immediate action. This action is pivotal in restoring faith, trust, and a sense of community among the congregation members who have long felt sidelined.
