Apple: Please reconsider supporting Big Sur on recent, capable Macs
The Issue
Recently, Apple announced their latest version of Mac OS, Big Sur, featuring an iOS-like redesign and introducing a near-future transition to Apple Silicon's Macs.
As per every new release, a list of compatible devices is published. Some of us were surprised that several capable Macs were left out (and some of us weren't so surprised since it makes sense for every improvement to require a better performing machine).
As a proud 27" Late 2013 iMac owner, I am sure my device (and other Haswell-equipped Macs as well) is perfectly capable of running current software, so I believe Big Sur could become my "last upgrade" for a couple years before my transition to Apple Silicon.
I hope I'm not the only one in this situation and Apple could reconsider their list of supported Macs. This thread welcomes anyone who would like to speak up and share their story. Thanks!
