                         APPELLO  ALLE  COMUNITÀ   EBRAICHE                                                        … affinché simili eventi non possano mai più accadere …

     Come ogni anno, anche quest'anno come Coordinamento EboliPace ricordiamo lo sterminio e le persecuzioni del popolo ebraico, le deportazioni di ebrei, militari, comunisti, partigiani, ROM, gay, … nei campi nazisti.

Lo facciamo “affinché simili eventi non possano mai più accadere”, come si legge nella conclusione dell'art. 2 della Legge n. 211 del 2000, che ha istituito la “Giornata della Memoria”.

     Quest'anno lo facciamo con ancora maggiore convinzione proprio per riflettere sull'importanza della memoria. 

"Se la memoria del male non riesce a cambiare l'Umanità a che serve la memoria?"
Primo Levi ci ricorda che questa giornata non deve essere solo vuota retorica, ma uno scudo che può salvarci dall'odio insensato. Se lo vogliamo.

     Quest'anno lo facciamo con ancora maggiore convinzione per sottolineare l'importanza di esserci, di partecipare, di ricordare, di fare la nostra parte “affinché simili eventi non possano mai più accadere”.

     Abbiamo condannato l'attacco terroristico di Hamas dello scorso 7 ottobre; terroristico perché non ha fatto distinzione tra militari e civili, tra occupanti e pacifisti.

     Poi c'è stato e continua ad esserci a Gaza il “genocidio” dei palestinesi da parte del governo israeliano. Questo massacro ricorda molto le rappresaglie attuate dai nazisti e dall'esercito tedesco durante la seconda guerra mondiale.

     E allora ci chiediamo se la memoria del male compiuto dai nazifascisti sia riuscita a cambiare l'Umanità.

    È per questo che in occasione della giornata della memoria rivolgiamo un appello alle comunità ebraiche che vivono in tutto il mondo ed in particolare alle comunità ebraiche presenti in Italia:

                                       In nome della “memoria"                                                                    del dolore e dell'orrore subiti ad opera dei nazifascisti                                                            e dei tanti “complici silenziosi” di allora,

• vi chiediamo di unirvi a quanti si battono per la Pace;
• vi chiediamo di opporvi duramente ed esplicitamente al genocidio nei confronti del popolo palestinese perpetrato dal governo israeliano;
• vi chiediamo di adoperarvi per il cessate il fuoco e per il riconoscimento di uno stato palestinese.
   

                                          Voi che avete tanto sofferto                                                                                         non siate “complici silenziosi”                                                                             di questo genocidio e di questa carneficina.

                                                  Costruiamo insieme                                                                                           un “Giorno della Memoria” nuovo,                                                                                 che riesca a cambiare l'Umanità !

                                  APPEAL  TO  JEWISH  COMMUNITIES                                                                … so that similar events can never happen again…

     As every year, this year too as EboliPace Coordination we remember the extermination and the persecutions of the Jewish people, the deportation of Jews, soldiers, communists, partisans, ROM, gays, … to Nazi camps.

We do it “so that similar events can never happen again”, as you can read in the conclusion of the art. 2 of the Law n. 211 of 2000, which designated the “Remembrance Day ”.

     This year we do it with more and more conviction just to reflect on the importance of memory.

"If the memory of evil cannot change Humanity what is the memory useful to?"

Primo Levi remembers us that this Day mustn't be only empty rhetoric, but a shield that can save us from senseless hate. If we want it.

     This year we do it with more and more conviction to underline the importance of being there, of participating, of remembering, of doing our part “so that similar events can never happen again”.

      We condemned the Hamas terrorist attack on the 7th of October; terrorist because it made no distinction between soldiers and civilians, between occupiers and pacifists.

     Then there was and continues to be the "genocide" of Palestinians by the Israeli government in Gaza. This massacre remembers a lot the reprisals acted by Nazis and by German Army during the Second World War.

     So we ask ourselves if the memory of evil done by Nazi-Fascists has really changed Humanity.

     It is for this reason that on the occasion of the Remembrance Day we make an appeal to the Jewish communities living all over the world and particularly to the Jewish communities living in Italy:

                           In the name of “memory”,                                                                   of the pain and the horror you suffered by Nazi-Fascists                                                          and by so many “silent parties” in that time,

• we ask you to join people fighting for Peace;
• we ask you to oppose, strongly and explicitly, the genocide of Palestine people committed by Israeli Government;
• we ask you to work for the ceasefire and for the acknowledgement of a Palestine State.

                           You who have suffered so much                                                         do not be “silent parties” of this genocide and this massacre !

                Let's build a new “Remembrance Day” together,                                                                          able to change Humanity !
