Train services between Newcastle and Alnmouth have been increasingly reduced over the last two years. Where there were once three trains covering this peak period, there are now planned to be none. This is not just a new inconvenience for locals who rely on public transport for work and daily activities, but it also represents a troubling trend towards neglecting the infrastructure that supports our communities.

We urge the authorities and companies involved to reconsider this decision and restore at least one train service during the 95-minute gap. This small change would uphold the integrity of a much used and valued transportation link and continue to support the economic and social well-being of our communities.
