APPEAL FOR AN AIR INDIA KANISHKA MEMORIAL LEARNING CENTRE AT DELHI
The Issue
The 23rd of June, 1985, is a date forever etched in our heart. The Air India Kanishka AI-182 from Toronto to London, was blown up by KhalistanI terrorists, killing 329 passengers, including 139 kids below 18. Simultaneously, a bomb blew up in Narita Tokyo, bound for another Air India flight, killing two Japanese baggage handlers before it was loaded on Air India 301 to delhi. I lost my entire family on that day as a teenager.
This was the largest act of terrorism until 9-11, and remains until today, the worst Aviation bombing in the history of the world.
Canada has erected four memorials for Kanishka, and Ireland has one. Canada has also declared June 23rd as a National Day of remembrance for all Terrorism Victims. Despite it being an Air India flight with so many Indians on board, successive Indian governments have not erected a memorial for Kanishka victims or multiple terrorists acts, nor even acknowledged it.
As victims’ families and friends each year make the long journey to Ireland or Canada with difficulty to remember our loved ones, and all the victims of terrorist acts everywhere.
The Air India Kanishka tragedy is crying for a memorial and a learning centre in India, where we may be able to remember, memorialise and honour our lost family members, and also those of other multiple terrorist crimes.
The Creation of a Kanishka learning centre, would remember the Air India tragedy and also become a centre for ALL THE OTHER ACTS OF TERRORISM THAT WE HAVE FACED - FROM THE MUMBAI BOMB BLASTS TO 26-11, TO URI, PULWAMA, PATHANKOT, PAHALGAM and so many more.
Establishing a memorial and learning centre in India dedicated to the victims of terrorism and Kanishka victims would be a significant step in affirming our collective stand against terrorism in all its forms. It would serve as a powerful symbol of resilience and a reminder of the innocent lives lost. It would also strengthen international solidarity against terrorism, reaffirming that such acts of violence will not be tolerated.
Join me in urging the Indian Prime Minister Modi to grant this petition. Let us come together to build this memorial not only as a tribute to the victims but also as a message that the voices of those we've lost continue to echo in our fight against terrorism.

SUB : APPEAL FOR A KANISHKA MEMORIAL & LEARNING CENTER
This 23rd of June marks the tragic 40th anniversary of the Kanishka Air India bombing, by the Khalistani terrorists, on flight AI-182 enroute Toronto to London, killing all 329 passengers including 82 children under the age of 12 killing an entire generation of unfulfilled dreams.
Simultaneously a second bomb bound for AI-301, exploded on the belt at Narita Tokyo, killing two baggage handlers. It was the worst act of terror that the world had known prior to 9-11, and even today is the world’s largest aviation bombing.
We lost 331 souls in those two bombs across the earth that day. I lost my entire family of my Dad, Mother and baby sister, as a teenager, and mine was only one of hundreds of tragic stories of Kanishka, but no one ever had time to listen in any country.
We waited for 15 years before the Canadian police filed charges and then watched as the Canadian justice system killed our families yet again, in a trial full of mistakes, dead or threatened witnesses, erased tape recordings, as the killers roamed free.
The John Major enquiry in 2010, produced some truth and showed how the killers got away with murder. During those 25 years, no Indian government had either bothered or responded to the cries of the families of Kanishka.
Canada has built 5 memorials across its length and breadth for the victims of Kanishka, India has yet to recognise the tragedy.
Over the last 40 years since Kanishka, India has been the victim of so many acts of terrorism like 26-11, Akshardham, Pulwama, Uri, Mumbai blasts and so many more.
On behalf of the Victims, the families of the passengers & crew of Air India 182 Kanishka, and countless Indians impacted by terrorism, we humbly request you to please sanction and build a Kanishka memorial and an Anti-Terrorism learning centre, at Delhi or any other city for the public, so we can remember, commemorate and memorialise the victims of terrorism, and educate our masses on the horrors of terrorism that India has faced.
We are grateful Sir, that you have sent a delegation to Ireland this year, but Sir, lots more needs to be done. We beseech your indulgence for a small memorial for the Worlds worst Aviation bombing and anti-terrorism learning centre cum museum at Delhi, for which we shall be eternally grateful
