Doctor Who Missing Episodes to be animated for DVD release!

The Issue

In 2007 the classic Doctor Who story, 'The Invasion' was released on DVD! It was the first ever time the BBC animated lost episodes for a DVD release. The BBC have been carrying this on for other releases like: The Reign of Terror, The Ice Warriors, etc.

A few months ago (October 2015), a story called 'The Underwater Menace' was released on DVD and instead of having animated episodes (which was what fans were expecting) it included poorly reconstructed episodes using photographic stills and a restored soundtrack. Then the BBC announced that 'The Underwater Menace' would be the final classic release. Which I'm guessing that means no more DVD releases until more lost episodes are found.

There are a lot of Doctor Who stories that have not yet been released on DVD which parts of them do remain, like 'The Crusade' which shares the same story as 'The Underwater Menace' both are 4 parter stories which they have 2 missing episodes and 2 remaining episodes. So why can't the BBC animate these episodes? We haven't got an answer yet, but we want to have these classics to watch in the comfort of our homes!

If you're interested please do sign this petition so we can get the message out to the BBC!

Many thanks,

Harry.
