I hope you [all] are doing well and thank you again for your past support of the Human Rights Commission in Anoka. With all the hard work and support of countless people, the HRC was finally reinstated as a board at the City of Anoka and we couldn't have done it without the help and support of folks like you. Thank you!
However while the city council kept the commission on the books, they are not supporting the commission well and have put many members on it that have been publicly opposed to the commission's existence. In order to have an effective Human Rights Commission we need a city council and Mayor willing to support them and their mission.
I ask for your support for my re-election and for the election of Parks Commissioner and HRC petition cosponsor, Sam Scott to the city council, as well as former HRC Commissioner Virginia Louden who is running for Mayor. Together the three of us would be able to bring some new faces to the commission to help make Anoka a more open and inclusive city.
Would you be willing to support us by letting us put a lawn sign at your home this fall? Sign up here: https://forms.gle/GBZjgTE2JC1gVuC89
Again thank you for your past support of the HRC and your consideration in getting some fresh faces in city government willing to listen and make a difference.
