There was a community meeting 02/04 for the backers of this project to answer questions from community members. The room was packed. The persons who presented were an individual local to the area, his partner, a former pro football player, their lawyer, and the engineer. The NY connection are the current owners of the property. The plan is for a for-profit 116,000 sq ft indoor sports arena along with an outdoor playing field and large parking lot. This facility would cater to groups from well outside of AACo. They would be clearing a large portion of the land (over 10 acres) to create room for the facility. It is our stance that the impact on the community and natural area would be immense and irreversible.
