So many animals are abused, neglected or slaughtered cruelly because a lot of people see them as disposable, not the significant beings that they are. When the offenders are caught, they are often given minimal sentencing and punishment, with no register list they are allowed to reoffend when their sentence is up. Imagine your own pet getting beaten, dumped and left to die, or cruelly killing them after losing a race. You wouldn't do it, so why should others be allowed to? Animals are not lesser than us, they are our equals as we are animals ourselves and cohabitation is the key to survival, not dominance. By creating an offenders register list, we can prevent those that have harmed animals in the past from harming animals in the future, and see that they get the proper sentencing they deserve. As I said before, we are animals ourselves, and there is a register when we harm each other, so why not one for when our animal equals are harmed themselves?
