Enclosing here with my friend Shruti's genuine concern and complaint against those who run amok against stray animals particularly dogs . I fully endorse whatever Shruti has to say . 

Enclosed below is her heart wrenching grievance .

I and my family have been feeding three dogs in our neighborhood since April 2020.Recently,a relative ( Madhusmita Mishra) of one of our neighbors came back to Bhubaneswar. On the 11th of July 2021,my father was downstairs at 4am.Just then, the lady got a stick to hit the dogs.
A similar incident took place on 14th when my mom was downstairs when the lady tried to hit the dogs again. When my mother tried to stop her, she threatened to hurt my mom and started yelling at her. My mom and she had a very loud and severe back and forth of words. This continued on to 15th when the older lady bursted our door and forcefully entered our flat to yell at my mom, after this incident being reported to the police by us.
On the same day, the police came to our building to get the word of both the parties. I and a cousin who was visiting were called in as eye witnesses and we're more than grateful for the help of the police and getting the legal support we need.

This whole chapter has been horrible and no less than a nightmare. We are made to feel unsafe in our home. We are being harassed for helping other fellow living beings that we share this planet with. And the scariest part is that how common being in the same situation as ours is. I sincerely request you to sign this petition to bring this monstrosity all around the country to an end.
