The Issue

As we know Bangalore is one of the largest cities in India and being a Metropolitan city, the area is very large ; even the population of stray community is vast.

Each day many animals face lot of fatal situations like accidents, injuries, chronic diseases and deaths. Being it a very busy city not many people care to show concern for these voiceless kids, except a few rescuers who are struggling day and night to save these animals.

It's a big challenge which each rescuer on ground faces to physically rescue, transport, treat, admit the animal if need be, releasing the animal after treatment, taking care of the post op care and some times even fight with the people to save or feed an animal and balance personal life too.

All this rescue process doesn't happen for free nor is it pocket friendly. Compared to the past few years in Bangalore the veterinary services have drastically become more expensive. Looking at the desperation of the rescuers to save a stray animal, private clinics are also rapidly increasing the prices of treatment.

If the cost of saving an animal keeps growing this way, how many lives can be saved by a common rescuer or a volunteer who sheds every penny from their pockets? Inspite of the 25-40% discount given by certain private vet clinics it is still a huge burden for the rescuers who rescue animals on regular basis.

There is only one 24/7 govt hospital for all over Bangalore and this option isn't practical, considering the stress of injured animal, money for transportation and the amount of rescues happening in a single day.

The work what the rescuers do is the actual work to be done by SPCA, BBMP and the Government but we, the rescuers are burning out our pockets. It is time for the departments to provide free ambulance services and it is high time that SOCIETY FOR PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS, KARNATAKA STATE ANIMAL WELFARE BOARD ( KSAWB ) and BBMP to meet and discuss with KARNATAKA VETERNARY COUNCIL to charge a nominal amount ( 80-90% ) discount for the stray or community animals who are the most neglected.

I request each and every person to sign the petition and share to the maximum so WE rescuers can help more STRAY animals without the fear of financial challenges.
