Friend,
This one is hard to even write...
Right now, we are investigating the brutal global trade where donkeys are being skinned alive. Their hides ripped from their bodies to make ejiao, a so-called “traditional remedy” that falsely claims to slow ageing. This is not medicine, Friend. It's misery.
At least 5.9 million donkeys are slaughtered for their skins every year. Many collapse and die long before they even reach slaughterhouses—crammed into trucks, starved, and trampled under one another.
Those who survive are killed in unregulated, filthy, and lawless conditions. Their hides are boiled down for collagen. Their bodies discarded like garbage.
Even after an Africa-wide ban was announced, the killing continues under the cover of night. Donkey slaughterhouses are still operating across the continent, feeding the global demand that is wiping out entire donkey populations.
China’s domestic donkey numbers have already collapsed. Now, Africa’s gentle working animals are the next victims. These are loyal, intelligent animals who have carried water, firewood, and hope for generations. They deserve protection, not a knife. This cruelty must end.
Donkeys are being skinned alive. Will you add your name to demand action, Friend?
Right now, as you read this, donkeys are waiting to be slaughtered in the most CRUEL and horrific ways imaginable.
In Kenya alone, over 400 donkeys are being killed every single day. Those caught in the donkey skin trade are beaten, starved, and slashed with machetes.
Some even have their legs broken before being piled into overcrowded trucks and hauled to their deaths. Many don’t even survive the journey.
And the “reward” for all this horror? Just £96 per skin. That’s all it takes to condemn thousands of innocent donkeys to unimaginable suffering, pushing the species closer to extinction with each passing day.
Those few who somehow escape are often left maimed, emaciated, and terrified — with deep machete wounds, shattered bones, and bodies wasting from starvation.
To them, Friend, donkeys are worth £96. To animal lovers like you and me, the animals are priceless.
I hope you'll join me in taking a stand against the donkey trade by signing the petition, Friend.
For all animals,
