Many matriculants did not come into contact with leaked examination papers prior to writing the exam and feel that it is unfair that the entire country has to rewrite due to the illegal acts of only a few people. As the academic year was already negatively affected by COVID-19, adding this unnecessary stress to an already stressful year seems cruel when the majority were innocent. We need to be considerate of the mental health of matriculants as matric is already one of the most stressful academic years. The guilty parties need to be identified and dealt with individually.
