LET US IN! Adjust The Nursing Home Visitation Policy due to Covid 19
The Issue
Our elderly are not living.... they are giving up, slowly dying alone, confused and feeling forgotten!
This is my beautiful Gram! Her name is Ardith Bulmahn.
She lives with Alzheimers and because of that, lives in a nursing facility.
Prior to March 2020 she recieved visitors everyday!
Since March 2020, she, like many others have been denied any visitors!
Our loved ones are alone.
Failure to thrive due to depression and loneliness is a real thing. They should not have to feel alone or forgotten. Some have spouses on the outside that are also ridden with depression because they cannot see and care for their loved one.
We are looking to be able to see our families.
We can "gown up" just like the staff. We would be willing to even pay for sterilized gowns, masks and gloves at the door.
If prisons and hospitals can have visitors, why can't our loved ones in nursing homes? Is it not our right and theirs?
Our elderly need to feel loved and wanted.
They have no one to make sure they are being properly cared for, no one to say I love you to them, no one to bring them their favorite things, no one to hug them.
They are living a much worse fate than a virus can ever bring.... hopelessness and loneliness!
Please stand with us! Sign this petition to see this changed.
We understand prevention and protection. We understand taking precautionary measures, but NO ONE SHOULD HAVE TO LIVE OR DIE ALONE!
Being alone is not living!!
Let our elderly LIVE until they die.... not die slowly alone.
We have lost 2 family members in nursing homes since this no visitation started. There is no closure. No way to know what their last moments were like. No one to hold their hand and tell them they are loved as they took their last breath, no way of knowing how or why they died. If we were there could it have been prevented???
We are being denied the most basic human right.
No one should have to die alone!
Please stand with us and have our voices heard! God bless you all!!
