New York Boys Lacrosse NOW!

New York Boys Lacrosse NOW!
The Issue
When the governors of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut communicated to develop some consistent guidelines so that it would not encourage one state community to travel to another to utilize beaches, restaurants, etc, it made perfect sense.
It has always been our goal and intention to have our practice and play resume as safely as possible and of course within all guidelines laid out by our elected officials.
The issue as you will see is that in New Jersey and Connecticut, they have classified Boys Lacrosse as medium risk. They have begun playing tournaments under certain guidelines and competitive games as well.
The result of this is programs all across Long Island are beginning to and continue to make arrangements to travel to these sites In New Jersey and Connecticut to play games and tournaments. I do not feel that this make sense or is in the spirit of what the Governors intention to be on the same page would be.
Traveling opens New York up to potential risks, ones that would be avoided if we were classified as the other states are “medium risk” and allowed to play as the other states are so that we may limit this crossover.
BEGIN ALLOWING COMPETITIVE LACROSSE IN NEW YORK NOW. This rule is allowing New Jersey and Connecticut economies benefit from Tax dollars that would have stayed in New York. It is also hurting businesses in New York. It is putting undue pressure on parents as their kids struggle with inactivity or the inconvienince to travel. It’s unfair, and goes against the plan for tri state to be on same page.
