Mi chiamo Silvia, ho 35 anni, vivo a Milano, sono una ragazza sulla sedia a rotelle e sono una grande fan di Taylor Swift. 

Taylor si esibirà a S. Siro (Milano, Italy) il 13 e 14 luglio del 2024. Come tutti i disabili in Italia, ho dovuto compilare un modulo scaricabile sul sito degli organizzatori italiani dell'evento, compilarlo e allegare la mia documentazione di invalidità e spedirlo via mail. Mi era stato spiegato telefonicamente dalla segretaria che si sarebbero presi la briga di "occuparsi" di noi disabili una volta esauriti i biglietti in vendita su ticketone (stiamo parlando dei biglietti riservati a chi non ha problemi motori, come se noi disabili appartenessimo a una categoria di serie B, e per l'ennesima volta non abbiamo gli stessi diritti e priorità alla pari di chi cammina). 

In attesa di essere ricontattata da dolo mi sono mossa per conto mio e mi sono comprata un biglietto VIP fronte palco, zona prato (è vero che ho speso la bellezza di 300 euro ma almeno ero sicura che fosse una zona accessibile per la sedia a rotelle, in quanto priva di gradini).

Una volta volta chiuse le vendite effettivamente l'agenzia ha iniziato a occuparsi anche di noi, mandando a destra e a sinistra mail in cui decideva chi fare entrare e chi no. Il criterio con cui sono state prese tali decisioni non è mai stato reso noto o scritto nero su bianco sul sito degli organizzatori. Purtroppo, essendo un evento privato, questa agenzia può gestire le cose come più le pare e piace. 

Io rientro tra le persone che sono state escluse dall'evento. Allora ho chiamato l'agenzia comunicando loro che mi sono comprata un biglietto VIP zona prato fronte palco (area accessibile con la sedia a rotelle) e la loro risposta è stata "In ogni caso, seduta sulla sedia a rotelle, non puoi partecipare pure avendo quel biglietto", lasciando intendere che se io fossi in grado di alzarmi e camminare non ci sarebbe alcun problema.

Inoltre, nella mail che mi hanno mandato mi hanno invitato a non contattarli ulteriormente in quanto sarebbero stati loro a ricontattarci qualora qualcuno decidesse di non partecipare più all'evento, o SE i posti per disabili dovessero aumentare.

Io voglio battermi affinché quel SE si trasformi in qualcosa di concreto. Mi rendo conto che sia impossibile far entrare tutti i disabili che hanno inviato la loro richiesta, ma siamo certi che la costruzione di un ulteriore spazio per disabili, seppur limitato, possa permettere a qualche persona in più di assistere al concerto. Si parla sempre di quanto bisogna aiutare sempre di più le persone fragili, abbattendo barriere e muri che li dividono dal mondo, quindi sembra assurdo che tutto questo stia accadendo proprio al concerto di una delle artiste più impegnata nei confronti dei fragili.

Fino al 2000, i posti riservati ai disabili erano quelli in prima fila, proprio davanti al palco (ritenuta anche una delle zone più sicure in quanto proprio lì davanti si trovano le guardie, tanti addetti alla sicurezza, numerosi volontari del 118 e le uscite di sicurezza che usano i musicisti.  Da il 2000 in poi i disabili sono stati messi in fondo alle sale, sempre più lontano dai palchi e in alcuni casi (ad alcuni concerti all'aperto), posizionati proprio accanto ai bagni mobili che sotto il sole cocente rendono l'aria irrespirabile, o anche posizionati su palchi dove le transenne sono proprio all'altezza dei loro occhi e gli impediscono la totale visuale. Vi state chiedendo perché avviene tutto questo? La risposta è che i posti in prima fila, che prima erano nostri, adesso vengono venduti come pacchetti VIP a prezzi esorbitanti.  E sono sempre gli organizzatori a gestire tutto questo; perché sono certa che se dipendesse dal Ministero della Disabilità le cose sarebbero gestite diversamente.

Vi ho voluto raccontare tutto questo perché purtroppo in tanti non sanno come funziona per i disabili qui in Italia. In America, in Giappone e in altri paesi europei le cose non stanno così e c'è una maggiore organizzazione. Per esempio in America i disabili hanno diritto di comprare un biglietto in zone accessibili con la sedia a rotelle (stiamo parlando di posti scelti da loro) e potersi godere lo spettacolo insieme ai loro amici e alle loro famiglie. 

Inoltre vorrei farvi riflettere su un altro aspetto fondamentale: Taylor non viene in Italia da più di 10 anni e questo concerto sappiamo essere unico nella storia della musica. Quindi, considerando questo, quando gli organizzatori ci dicono che qualora qualche disabile dovesse rinunciare alla sua partecipazione permettendo a qualcun altro di essere sorteggiato, questo cosa vorrebbe dire che dobbiamo aspettare o "sperare" che qualcuno non sia nelle condizioni di salute per partecipare a un concerto che ha sognato per mesi e permettere così a qualcun altro di parteciparvi? Tutto questo mi sembra vergognoso da parte loro. 

Richiesta: in Italia per  fortuna abbiamo un precedente grazie ad una ragazza che si è battuta per una seconda pedana per disabili all'Arena di Verona, quindi sappiamo che è possibile. Chiedo agli organizzatori di smettere di vederci come persone di serie B, comprendere che non possono pensare solo al loro profitto ma devono pensare anche alle persone malate che stanno lasciando sui marciapiedi davanti allo stadio. L'agenzia sapeva benissimo l'artista che stava andando a rappresentare, i suoi ideali, la sua generosità, la sua vicinanza nei confronti dei più fragili e sulla base di questo avrebbero dovuto essere consapevoli dell'elevato numero di richieste che sarebbero arrivate da parte dei disabili e iniziare già a lavorare per l'aggiunta di una seconda pedana. Taylor non ci vorrebbe fuori sulla strada o rinchiusi come sempre tra le quattro mura di casa, quindi se come agenzia volete fare del vostro meglio e essere GIUSTI, date a  tutti noi fan di Taylor Swift gli stessi diritti. 

Siete un'agenzia italiana e nel nostro paese si cerca di fare sempre di più per i più fragili e voi non siete esenti da tali DOVERI. C'è bisogno che comprendiate che state lasciando a casa persone malate che non hanno il lusso di aspettare altri 13 anni affinché Taylor Swift ritorni in Italia. C'è bisogno che comprendiate che i disabili hanno il presente e che nessuno, nemmeno voi, deve strapparci via un sogno.

Se non sono stata abbastanza chiara lo ribadisco: UNA PEDANA AGGIUNTIVA ALLO STADIO DI SAN SIRO PER IL 13 E IL 14 LUGLIO 2024 NON E' UN'OPZIONE MA DEVE ESSERE REALIZZATA. Noi ci batteremo in tutti i modi per questo.

My name is Silvia, I'm 35 years old, I live in Milan, I'm a girl in a wheelchair and I'm a big fan of Taylor Swift.

Taylor will perform at S. Siro Stadio (Milan, Italy) on 13 and 14 July 2024. Like all disabled people in Italy, I had to fill out a form downloadable on the website of the Italian organizers of the event, fill it out and attach my disability documentation and send it by email. I had been explained by telephone by the secretary that they would "take care" of us disabled people once the tickets on sale on ticketone ran out (we are talking about tickets reserved for those without mobility problems, as if we disabled people belonged to a category series B, and for the umpteenth time we do not have the same rights and priorities as those who walk)

Waiting to be recontacted, I moved on my own and bought a VIP ticket in front of the stage, in the parterre area (it is true that I spent 300 euros but at least I was sure it was a wheelchair accessible area, as it has no steps).

Once the sales were closed, the agency actually started to take care of us too, sending emails in which they decided who to let in and who not. The criterion with which these decisions were taken has never been disclosed or written on the organizers' website. Unfortunately, being a private event, this agency can handle things as they please.

I am one of the people who have been excluded from the event. So I called the agency telling them that I bought a VIP ticket in the lawn area in front of the stage (area accessible to wheelchairs) and their answer was "In any case, you can't participate with a wheelchair even if you have that ticket ", implyng that if I was able to get up, I wouldn't have any problems. 

Furthermore, in the email they sent me, they invited me not to contact them anymore as they would be the ones to get back to us if someone decided not to participate in the event anymore, or IF the places for disabled people were to increase.
I want to fight for that IF to turn into something concrete. I realize that it is impossible to get in all the disabled people who have sent their request, but we are certain that the construction of an additional space for the disabled, will allow some more people to attend the concert. We always talk about how much we need to help fragile people more and more, breaking down barriers and walls that divide them from the world, so it seems absurd that all this is happening right at the concert of one of the artists most committed to the fragile.

Up until 2000s, the seats reserved for the disabled were those in the front row, right in front of the stage (also considered one of the safest areas because of there are guards, all the security, numerous 118 volunteers, and the exits of safety that musicians use. From the 2000s onwards, disabled people have been placed at the back of the halls, further and further away from the stages and in some cases (at some open-air concerts) positioned right next to the portable toilets, which under the scorching sun make the air unbreathable, in other case they are placed on stages where the barriers right at eye level prevent them from having a total view. Are you wondering why all this happens? The answer is that the front row seats that used to be ours are now being sold as VIP packages at exorbitant prices. And it's always the organizers who handle all of this, because I'm sure if it were up to the Ministry of Disability things would be handled differently.

I wanted to tell you all this because unfortunately many people don't know how it works for the disabled here in Italy. In America, Japan and other European countries this is not the same and there is more organization. For example, in America, disabled people have the right to buy a ticket in wheelchair-accessible areas that they choose and be able to enjoy the show together with their friends and families.

I would also like to make you reflect on another fundamental aspect: Taylor hasn't been to Italy for more than 10 years and we know this concert is unique in the history of music. So, considering this, when the organizers tell us that if someone with a disability were to give up their participation than someone else will be drawn, this would mean that we have to wait or "hope" that someone is not in a healthy condition to attend a concert that dreamed for months and thus allow someone else to participate in it? This all seems shameful of them to me.

Request: luckily in Italy we have a precedent thanks to a girl who fought for a second platform for the disabled at the Verona Arena, so we know it's possible. I ask the organizers to stop seeing us as second-class people, to understand that they cannot only think about their profit but also think about the sick people they are leaving on the sidewalks, in front of the stadium. The agency knew very well the artist it was going to represent, her ideals, her generosity, her closeness towards the most fragile and they should have been aware of the high number of requests that would have arrived from of the disabled and already start work on adding a second platform for us.

Taylor wouldn't want us out on the street or cooped up as always within the four walls of the house, so dear Agency if you want to do your best and be RIGHT give all of us Taylor Swift fans the same rights.
You are an Italian agency and in our country we try to do more and more for the most fragile and you are not exempt from these DUTIES. You need to understand that you are leaving sick people at home who don't have the luxury of waiting another 13 years for Taylor Swift to return to Italy. You need to understand that disabled people have the present and that no one, not even you, should take a dream away from us.

If I haven't been clear enough, I'll repeat it: AN ADDITIONAL PLATFORM AT THE SAN SIRO STADIUM FOR 13 AND 14 JULY 2024 IS NOT AN OPTION BUT MUST BE REALIZED. We will fight in every way for this.
