We are deeply concerned by the numerous, documented reports of assault and bullying at our school that have been met with a devastating lack of meaningful action under the leadership of Principal Mr. Leslie.

Our children deserve a safe, nurturing environment where they can thrive, yet for too many, Cameron Elementary has become a source of fear and anxiety. We, the community, have entrusted the school administration with their well-being, and the failure to promptly and decisively address repeated safety violations constitutes a profound betrayal of that trust.

This inaction has a real and tragic cost. It is a recognized fact that persistent bullying and a lack of safety at school can lead to severe mental health crises. Research consistently links bullying victimization to increased risks of depression and suicidal ideation in youth. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people aged 10-24, and creating an environment where children feel unseen and unsafe only amplifies this tragic risk.

To every parent who has felt the heartbreak of their child being targeted and the frustration of their pleas being ignored: You are not alone.
