The Issue

As a dedicated fan of Star Stable Online (SSO), I am writing to bring attention to the concerns of many players who feel neglected and disillusioned by the current state of the game. I’m sure many of us are aware, by now, that SSO is not a cheap game to play, and many of us have invested considerable time and money into it. However, the issue lies within the fact that many of us are constantly left feeling ripped-off and ignored by SSE.

One of the most recent and ongoing examples shown in how the beloved Western Festival has changed: Many players express their concerns in the way that previous characteristics, of which added to the charm of the festival (i.e. wolves, event currency/tokens, the old goldmine), were completely pulled from the game, rather than revamped and improved.

It is truly disheartening and discouraging to see that despite the significant expenses associated with SSO, player feedback is often disregarded. Many of us have repeatedly voiced our concerns regarding game functionality, content updates, and customer service, only to receive generic responses (often after a prolonged period), or none at all. It’s crazy to think that such a thing needs to be said, but players deserve to be heard, especially when the game has received consistent support over the years.

The reality is, engaging community feedback is crucial for any game's success. And it has been shown, many times over, that when positive critique is taken into account, the game in question prospers. Yet, SSO's trend of dismissing player concerns has led to a loss of trust and growing frustration among its player base. Part of which is shown in the way the player base continues to return to their desktops, clinging to the hope that one day something will change. It is also worth mentioning that there have been a multitude of attempted and/or successful strikes over the years. And let's not forget the once majorly discussed lawsuit, aimed towards SSE, more specifically.

Additionally, I've been communicating with other members of the SSO community, and (what I’ll refer to as) repeat offenses include:

General QOL neglect (i.e. lackluster body-typing, meshing and clipping faults, oversaturated environments, sound design/soundtrack, etc.)
Double-Trailblazers (i.e. the Camp Western/Western Festival and other event-related “noticeboards”)
Equine ignorance (i.e. rein-clipping, primarily over- but also under-jumping, past-due retrofittings, prioritizing breeds available over those unavailable, “auto-steering”, etc.)
Needless to say, a change is necessary and far beyond welcome. We strongly urge SSO's management team to implement structured feedback mechanisms (i.e. regular community surveys, interactive forums, and player advisory panels). Or, simply put, anything made available where players can express their thoughts and feel genuinely heard. Such an approach can not only empower players, but significantly enhance the game's quality.

We seek to remind SSO's higher-ups that players are not mere consumers, but integral members of a much grander community. Stand with us as we call for a more inclusive and responsive approach from our game developers.

And given you’re able to, we’d appreciate it if you would sign this petition to advocate for a better, and more player-focused, Star Stable Online experience.
