COVID-19 is taking over. People are exposed to this 24/7 especially healthcare workers: doctors, nurses, desk staff, pharmacists, physical therapists, even the chefs in the cafeteria of the hospitals. These people come in contact with at least 100 people a day those people may consist of coworkers like doctors, nurses, desk staff, pharmacists, physical therapists, and the chefs who are making the patients food to bring up to their rooms. Those 100 people can be exposing the medical staff EVERYONE needs to help get through medical issues some life threatening. Without the medical staff in good health the patients are at higher risk. If the medical staff isn’t wearing masks 24/7 while at work and even running errands they are risking being exposed to COVID-19. If they are exposed and do not have symptoms for 14 days that is 1400 people that one employee encounters the 14 days they are working before symptoms show. Now those 1,400 people may have the virus. Those employees will spread it to 140,000 people meaning that every day these healthcare workers go unmasked they are not only protecting their coworkers and their patients. They are protecting their families who may be elderly or may be infants everyone’s home life is different but no matter what it’s like healthcare workers want to protect the people they love just as much as they want to continue to do the job they love helping others. Healthcare workers are also exposing the workers in stores where they shop for groceries, hygiene products, gas, coffee, anything that involves leaving the house to be purchased they are risking infecting the people in those places or being exposed in those places. Healthcare workers everywhere need to be in masks at work. They are a key piece in the world and being without them could cause so many more issues to patients and hospitals everywhere. All these issues that can arise can be prevented by a simple mask. A mask home made or a mask store bought. A mask is a mask and as long as the home made ones are made with the cdc recommended pattern and materials like 100% cotton shell and 100% cotton flannel lining they are beneficial in slowing the spread by protecting everyone who steps foot inside a hospital. It does not matter who you are walking in the hospital doors everyone inside those doors has a family and their families love them. The people in those doors could be a mom or dad to a young child, a son or daughter taking care of their elderly parents who live with them, a husband, a wife, fiancé, mother, daughter, father, son, everyone in there has a family they are trying to protect outside those doors. Allow them to protect themselves, their patients, and their families by allowing them to wear masks that they bring in to work. Hospitals are meant to help people not hurt them. So why would any hospital allow their employees and patients to be at risk due to rules about masks only being worn when absolutely necessary. THIS IS NECESSARY! PROTECT THE PEOPLE THAT SAVE LIVES! EVERY EMPLOYEE INSIDE HAS AN IMPORTANT JOB WE CANNOT RISK LOSING THEM FOR WEEKS UNTIL THEY RECOVER FROM COVID-19! PROTECT THEM BY ALLOWING MASKS TO BE WORN BY EMPLOYEES 24/7 INSIDE THE HOSPITALS!
