American Voters Against Netanyahu

American Voters Against Netanyahu
The Issue
Donald J. Trump represents an existential threat to the idea of America. If he is allowed to become President, he and his supporters may very well end our nearly 250-year-old experiment in liberal democracy.
He is a self-interested, racist, strongman with ties to ultranationalist religious groups and techno-oligarchs. He publicly discredits our judicial system and flouts the rule of law. Trump cares more about avoiding prison than the welfare of his fellow citizens.
Despite this threat, many Americans are apprehensive about voting for Vice President Kamala Harris.
We find it difficult to justify voting for a party that continues to provide *unconditional* financial and military support to Bibi Netanyahu - a self-interested, racist, strongman with ties to ultranationalist religious groups. Netanyahu has tried to dismantle the Israeli judicial system and continues to flout domestic and international law. He cares more about avoiding prison than the welfare of his citizens - some of whom are still being held hostage by Hamas.
Netanyahu has said that he would prefer Donald Trump as President. If he is allowed to continue indefinitely starving and killing Palestinians in Gaza and expanding military operations in Lebanon or beyond, it could destabilize the entire region.
It is difficult to see how continued unconditional support for Netanyahu is in the best interest of either the Israeli, Arab, or American people (or indeed, the Democratic Party).
We recognize that Israel has a right to exist and defend herself.
We recognize that Palestinians have the right to self-determination.
We recognize the importance of American laws governing foreign assistance (22 u.s.c. ch. 32 § 2151) and humanitarian rights (Leahy Law).
We know that a Harris/Walz administration offers the best chance for resolving the conflict in the Middle East, bringing home the hostages, and securing basic human rights for all Palestinian people. However, we can only, in good conscience, vote for a candidate who pledges to do their duty as President by actually enforcing these existing laws.
This year's election promises to be one of the closest elections in US History. Donald Trump can be defeated if every citizen who cares about America and American foreign policy exerts their electoral power by voting for Harris.
Palestinian Lives Matter. Israeli Lives Matter. Our Votes Matter.
