The Issue

Healthcare is a fundamental human right, yet millions of Americans struggle to afford basic medical care. As of 2025, 91 million Americans—over one-third of the population—are currently unable to afford quality healthcare. The current healthcare system leaves too many behind, with skyrocketing costs, inadequate coverage, and a growing mental health crisis that goes largely unaddressed. We believe that all Americans deserve access to affordable, comprehensive healthcare — not just in times of crisis, but as part of their everyday well-being.

Tens of millions of people in the United States rely on medications, routine doctor visits, and preventive care to manage chronic conditions, yet far too many are unable to access these essentials due to high costs. For many, this means going without necessary treatments, leading to worsened health outcomes and, in some cases, avoidable hospitalizations. The financial strain of medical bills forces people to make impossible choices—whether to pay for prescriptions, seek care, or cover basic living expenses. This burden disproportionately affects vulnerable populations.

The need for universal healthcare and mental health services is pressing. The current system leaves too many Americans without access to the care they need, with devastating consequences for individuals and society. Providing universal health care, including comprehensive mental health services, is not just a policy choice—it’s a moral imperative. It ensures health equity, improves overall well-being, strengthens the economy, and helps foster a more just and compassionate society. It's time for a change in how we prioritize health, quality healthcare is a right, not a privilege
