The Issue

In the recent animal cruelty case in Chennai where two people mercilessly threw a helpless stray from the roof of a building and filmed it for their entertainment, what we learnt was that the Laws in India have No value for the lives of the voiceless animals. The accused were tracked down and caught by the help of the Chennai Police and Animal welfare workers in the City -  Shravan Krishnan, Antony Rubin & Jennifer Jacob Murali Anand . The power of Social Media helped them build their case so that they could go to the police and file an FIR . The cruel video went viral in a span of few hours and everyone from all over the country and world shared it in support of Animal Welfare and in disgrace of the heinous act.Shortly after the two were nabbed, they were left by paying a bail of Rs.50/- Because The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act is so old and there has been no amendment to it since the last 56 years.. that's right 56 long years! We urge each and every one of you to please sign this petition so that we can show the government that it's High time we change the way we look at laws in our country and that first of all this act needs to be made into a Non-Bailable Offence to begin with. We of course hope for the Act to have the same punishment as it is to harm, kill or torture another Human Being. That is the Next Step. Please Sign this and share it to as many people as you can in India and even around the world.P.S : The victim miraculously survived the fall and is undergoing treatment in Chennai. It breaks our heart to see her go through this torture and #Bhadra is still wagging her tail like a happy little Pup. She's a fighter who hasn't lost trust in us and we owe this to her!Do it for #Bhadra and all the other voiceless animals who get tortured and harmed everyday just to provide some entertainment !#NoMore50
