We live in Conway, SC, a place known for its hot climate. Our community, Pine Forest, unfortunately offers no amenities for our children. There are no playgrounds and no community pool where they can cool off and enjoy their time. This lack of facilities has led us to seek alternatives for our families' enjoyment and well-being.

Above ground pools have emerged as a cost-efficient solution that we believe should be permitted within the confines of our private, fenced-in backyards. Currently, the Homeowners Association (HOA) guidelines do not allow this option.

However, it's important to note that above ground pools are not only affordable but also safe when installed correctly. According to the U.S Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), there is no significant difference in the number of injuries between in-ground and above-ground pools when proper safety measures are implemented.

Moreover, allowing above ground pools would increase property values within Pine Forest by providing an additional amenity homeowners can enjoy without leaving their homes - something particularly beneficial during times of social distancing or heatwaves.

We believe that changing these HOA guidelines will significantly improve residents' quality of life while maintaining the aesthetic integrity of our beloved community. Therefore, we urge you to consider amending these regulations so families can install above ground pools in their fenced-in backyards.
