We recently faced a significant setback when we were forced to shut down due to a complaint, stalling our mission to serve the community. For us, and the many food truck operators like us, the opportunity to share our passion extends beyond just coffee and food; it's about fostering local business, creating connections, and enhancing the unique culture of Honolulu.
Honolulu Code § 13-6.2 currently restricts licensed food trucks from operating in scenic and commercial corridors, despite the positive impact these small businesses have on the local economy and community vibrancy. At Diamond Head, we believe food trucks bring more than just delicious eats—they bring jobs, promote local entrepreneurship, and enhance the cultural tapestry that makes Hawaii so unique.
