The Issue

Amend Constitutional Age Restrictions For POTUS:
Stop Electing Senile Old Men !!!

The last two Presidents of the United States of America, Joe Biden and Donald Trump, both celebrated their 80th birthdays while occupying the Oval Office.

Article II, Section 1, Clause 5:

"No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States."

By signing this petition, We The People hereby request that Congress propose an amendment to Article II, Section 1, Clause 5 of the United States Constitution, as follows:

"neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years or who shall have attained the Age of seventy five Years on or before their inauguration date"

We The People also hereby request that both the House and the Senate, as outlined in Article V of the Constitution, approve the above mentioned proposal via a 2/3 super-majority vote in each chamber, and that every State thereafter ratify the proposal via a vote to approve the amendment in their individual state legislatures. (38 out of 50 States, which is a 3/4 majority, must approve for the Amendment to be ratified.)

It is important to note that, because the President does not have a constitutional role in the amendment process, proposed amendments do not go to the White House for a signature or veto.
