Amend Australia's Vaccine Compensation Scheme for More Inclusive Diagnoses
Amend Australia's Vaccine Compensation Scheme for More Inclusive Diagnoses
The issue
I am an ordinary Australian, just like you, who sustained an adverse reaction to the Covid vaccine. This isn’t a unique tale. Like many of you, I found that the government's compensation scheme does not include the effects I suffer from, and many others do: the scheme only covers an incredibly narrow group of about 6 diagnoses. There are thousands of Australians also living with the consequences of rare but real vaccine side effects who are being ignored and excluded from any form of financial assistance.
We pay our taxes, and we took the vaccine out of our consciousness to protect our community. However, in return, much needed support for those adversely affected has been less than desired. The scheme promised protection for Australians taking these necessary steps for containment of the pandemic. It isn't doing enough.
Our complaints and medical assessments from specialists are being overlooked. These are not faceless individuals but real people who had put community before self. The Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), which the scheme heavily relies on, is failing to investigate our numerous adverse reaction reports sufficiently.
Thousands of reports are floating in their system, unopened, unattended, ignored. It's a disgrace, a failure to provide care for the welfare of the very people who took brave steps despite personal risks.
This petition demands a revision in the Australian compensation scheme for vaccine side effects. It calls for an extension in the number of diagnoses to include all those affected. We demand the TGA step up, listen, investigate, and tend to every report that comes its way.
Join this cause. Let's ensure that every Australian, who took a step for the collective good despite the personal risks, receives the support they deserve. Please, sign the petition now!
