URGENTE PROTECCIÓN CONTRA EL FUEGO EN ILALÓ

ILALÓ, volcán con alto valor en patrimonio  ecosistémico, cultural, arqueológico, fuente hídrica de los valles, constantemente enfrenta problemas de degeneración de la naturaleza, lo que pone en riesgo a sus habitantes humanos, animales, vida en general. El 4 de Agosto fué azotado por varios incendios incluyendo áreas de quebradas y bosques nativos. Los habitantes de comunidades y barrios junto con los bomberos lucharon durante 20 horas por contener los altos fuegos alimentados por el paisaje seco y los fuertes vientos.

Estos INCENDIOS azoran varios sectores, bosques y vertientes, se puede decir típicos del verano, pero también son típicos cuando hay algún movimiento en favor de cuidar lo poco que queda de bosque nativo, de vertientes limpias.

Además, son demasiados los conflictos ambientales y sociales que causa el urbanismo excesivo y sin normativa, el relleno de quebradas, escombreras, contaminación de aguas negras y basura en quebradas, vertidos de lixiviados del botadero municipal, irrespeto de propiedades y gobernanza comunitarias, malas prácticas agrícolas, presión sobre cualquier grupo o persona que quiera denunciarlo o frenar parcial o totalmente esta autodestrucción causada por los humanos.

Somos corresponsables de cuidar o destruir nuestro patrimonio natural y cultural!  Ilaló cuenta con hallazgos arqueológicos de la prehistoria! Autoridades, habitantes, ciudadanos, todos quieren cuidar el Ilaló pero lo hacen apuntando al otro, sacando algún provecho de la acción, o entregándose a la desinformación destinada a separar en vez de unir.

TODOS DEBEMOS FRENAR LAS PRÁCTICAS QUE DESTRUYEN LA NATURALEZA, todos somos llamados a Regenerar y cuidar lo que queda. El DMQ, debe normar y declarar zona protegida todo el Ilaló, no solo la cima, instrumentar la Emergencia declarada simbólicamente, y que se produzcan medidas que frenen el avance urbano desmedido, el Ministerio de Ambiente debe proteger el Bosque Protector que fue declarado desde 1988! Los ciudadanos que van a caminar y disfrutar de la naturaleza deben hacerlo en respeto a sus habitantes y formas de vida, los habitantes debemos transicionar a asentamientos sustentables con prácticas agrícolas sostenibles basadas en la soberanía alimentaria, tratamiento con agua negra en la fuente y reincorporación de deshechos al suelo, reconectar los ciclos de los elementos. 

TODOS TENEMOS QUE REFORESTAR CON ESPECIES NATIVAS Y DISEÑOS REGENERATIVOS PARA RECUPERAR EL ECOSISTEMA, PROTEGER LAS VERTIENTES. La cooperación social entre actores vinculados al Ilaló es la forma más efectiva de frenar el daño y empezar a restaurar la vida.  Quieres ser uno de los que cuida el Ilaló, sumate a este propósito de recuperar al Ilaló Verde. URGENT PROTECTION FOR ILALO VOLCANO AGAINST FIRE

The Volcano Ilaló which has a rich ecosystemic, cultural and arqueological heritage, water source for the valleys around it, constantly struggles with nature degeneration problems, wich bring risk to its inhabitants, humans, animals, life in general.  It si located 20 kilometers away from Quito. On August 4 it was beaten by various fires, also in slopes and native forest. Local people from indigenous communities and others helped firefighters to contain the tall flames, fueled by the dry landscape and in heavy winds.

This fires destroy various areas, forests, streams, it can be said typical fires of summer time, but they also appear tipycally when theres is some movement supporting nature care of what is left from the native forest and clean streams.

Also, there are too much environmental and social conflicts caused by the excesive urbanism without regulations, slopes filled with trash, water contamination, municipal leachate dumping, disrespect to communitary properties and governance, destructive agricultural practices, pressure over any group or persona that wants to denounce or try to stop partially or totally the selfdestruction caused by humans.

We are corresponsable in taking care or destroy our natural and cultural heritage. Ilaló has prehistoric arqueological treasures. Authorities, local people, citizens, all want to take care of Ilaló, but they do it opposing to each other, taking some advantage of the action or getting confused by the disinformation created to divide people instead of cooperating.

WE ALL HAVE TO STOP PRACTICES THAT DESTROY NATURE!

We are all called to regenerate and take care of what is left. The Municipality must regulate and declare nature protected area all of the volcano, not just the top. In particular, it ask the Quito Municipality,  to declare inmediately to Ilaló’s protected status in EMERGENCY  and to STOP all building in this area until the existing regulatory measures are updated and established. The Environmental Ministry of Ecuador must protect the Protected Forest, which was declared so in 1988.

The people who likes to walk and enjoy nature must do it in respect to local people and all life forms. The inhabitants must transitionate to sustainable settlements with food security based sustainable agricultura, water treatment at the source and organic waste reintroduction , reconnect the elements cycle.

WE ALL HAVE TO RESTORE NATURE WITH NATIVE TREES AND REGENERATIVE DESIGNS TO RECOVER THE ECOSYSTEM, PROTECT THE STREAMS.
