The book "A birthday cake for George Washington" is a vile exemplification of the distortion of history. Slavery should not and can not be portrayed as anything other than what it was- the abuse of people of color for centuries in order to build the America we know. America was built on the backs of slaves on the land of Native Americans.

We, as Americans, should not allow that to be forgotten. Men, women and children died and suffered during slavery and even after it abolished directly because of it. Rewriting history is making a mockery of those deaths... of that suffering. America has a twisted, dark past- we have a responsibility to not make light of it.
