Exclude drone operations from Model Aviation under the AMA, and lobby the administration for an exemption from regulations targeting drones.

On behalf of our fellow AMA members friends and customers, we are urging you, the Executive Committee of the AMA, to redirect all our association's resources to advocate for a clear separation of Model Aviation from Drones, in the hope of keeping our  activity exempt from the UAS denomination and regulations. The emphasis must be placed on the fact that we have always flown models at designated RC fields, in manual control of our aircraft, in a very limited airspace closely surrounding the said fields, in direct line of sight. By keeping our flying limitations and aircraft types the same as they have been for so long, we can then assure the law makers and the administration that we will remain as trouble free as we have been for so long, and we must  pursue an exemption from the Drone / UAS regulations.
