I’ve been looking at stats! 

In the UK, there are currently an estimated 982,000 people living with dementia- projected to rise to 1.4 million by 2040 - one of those 418,000 could be you, me or both of us. 

One in 11 people over the age of 65 have dementia. There are over 70,000 people with young onset dementia, where symptoms develop before the age of 65 - for me that’s another 6 years. 

Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia. 60% - that’s 520,000 people in the UK - are estimated to be suffering from this dreadful condition. 

I’m so grateful to those who have shared my petition & it won’t hurt to share again just in case anyone missed it.

Collectively we can make a difference in so many areas:-

• Needless suffering
• NHS beds being taken up by people waiting to go into care homes
• Care homes freeing up beds for patients that need them
• People waiting for lifesaving organs
• Alzheimer’s & dementia research
