Alter Mission Progress Measurement in Helldivers 2 for Enhanced Game Engagement

The Issue

As a dedicated player of Helldivers 2, I stand among countless others who experience the disheartening reality of our gaming sessions. I know there are many out there who, like myself, feel that our hard-earned progress pulls short of satisfactory recognition. Our commitment to carrying out Major Orders (MOs) and boosting the liberation percentage often goes unrewarded unless we've set aside an hour or more to play.

Only having the time to complete one or two missions due to everyday life responsibilities is a common scenario. Yet, knowing that these missions won't matter in the grand scheme because of the current way liberation is counted only when all missions in a set are complete, can be discouraging. This issue has led to the failure of numerous MOs and has affected the enjoyment and satisfaction derived from the game.

The current mechanics do not adequately acknowledge the efforts of players who are unable to delve into long hours of gaming. In contrast, they penalize those who contribute fewer missions, even though these missions may be highly challenging and equally valuable to the game's overarching goal.

In light of this, we propose a change that will allow each mission to count towards the overall success and liberation percentage, even if completed as stand-alone. This change is crucial to maintain the engagement and motivation of all Helldivers 2 players, regardless of the number of missions they can complete at a time. It's a fundamental aspect of gaming reward structures, acknowledging the contributions of all players - whether they play for hours or manage to sneak in a quick mission.

Help us drive this change for a more rewarding and inclusive Helldivers 2 gaming community. Ignite the spark of change by signing this petition today to make every mission, no matter how small, count towards the liberation and overall success in Helldivers 2.
