However, many people absolutely hate voice notes and dread receiving them. It is difficult to multitask while listening. Playing voice notes is slow (much slower than reading). Downloading them is a waste of mobile data on limited plans and a waste of storage as well. Whatever information they contain is not searchable. To the hearing impaired, they are useless.

If only there was a setting that could prevent others from leaving unwanted voice notes! It's so simple, please? You've given us the ability to block particular users already - and that's our only option as it comes to the selfish and inconsiderate people who continue sending voice messages after being asked not to. It would be much better if recipients had ultimate control over this, rather than senders.

In 2019, you've already added privacy settings for each user to control who may add him or her to groups. This is a very similar issue in need of a very similar solution. Millions of users will truly appreciate it, and the needless aggravation you will help eliminate is beyond measure.

It would also make sense to allow group admins to toggle this on or off in settings for the group.
