UPDATE!!!!! Allow Us to Keep Our Rescued Horses Despite Rezoning in Rosslyn, ON

The Issue

UPDATE

We have received an outcome of the last council meeting!

we have only 30 days from June 3rd to either get rid of the horses or go through a Temporary zoning bylaw to allow the horses to stay until their natural passing.

There is an application fee of $1845.00 which consists of the $1500.00 fee to the zoning bylaw and $345.00 for the LRCA PLAN REVIEW FEE.

It is urgent that we collect this amount before the deadline of July 2nd  or we will receive fines and the horses will be removed!

please send any donations to sassycloutier2016@gmail.com

It has been a rollercoaster of emotions so any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am a resident of Rosslyn, ON. My daughter has two rescued horses that are more than just animals; they're part of our family. They may not be rideable due to injuries, therefore can't be rehomed as no one wants them but they bring immense joy to my grandchildren - a 4-year-old grandson and a 1-year-old granddaughter who have learned valuable lessons about care and compassion from them. Even my grandson who i have custody of 14 years old, who struggles with personal issues and was once an indoor person, has come out of his shell because of these horses. They also help me cope with my anxiety immensely.

Our lives were going smoothly until we were informed about the rezoning in our area which would force us to get rid of our beloved horses. This is devastating news for us as these horses have been part of our family for over a year and a half now.

The benefits that animals bring into people's lives are well-documented (source: Mental Health Foundation). In addition to teaching responsibility and empathy, caring for pets like ours can provide therapeutic benefits especially for children dealing with emotional struggles like my 14 year old grandson.

I run a rescue that is for all animals my daughter and I have not stopped rescuing animals big or small for any amount of time we have had pig goats  horses u name it we had it  but always found homes for them as they were healthy and wanted some animals just aren't wanted due to injuries and medical attention that is needed and we are left with 2 rescued animals that have not found there home due to not being able to be adopted out and well my daughter and her children, my grandson and myself have fallen madly in love with them

Please sign this petition if you believe that we should be allowed to keep our rescued horses despite the rezoning rules until their natural life ends.
