Allow University of Chester Nursing Students Back On Placement!

The Issue

The University of Chester has made the decision to once again pull their nursing students out of their placement, this is the 2nd time in the space of a year and this is having a huge impact on the students. This now means they are going to be even further behind than they already are in their training hours, they currently have no plan on how these students are supposed to catch up on these hours and even admitted that they may not be able to catch up on these hours over the summer.

The University made this decision based on the government guidelines that say students can go home for Christmas between the 2nd to the 9th of December, however they are then not even giving students the option to continue on their placements if they so wish. This is also an anomaly as many other universities such as Edge Hill University have said their student placements will continue. Chester University have yet to provide their students with a satisfactory reason as to why they have made this decision and just asked their students to "trust them"

We are asking, as this could result in a whole cohorts not being able to qualify on time that the uni allows students to continue their placement if that is what they wish to do and that those students choosing to do so fully understand and will accept the rules about Christmas travel as stated by the government.
