The Students at Hidden Oaks Middle schools have been told this year that they are not allowed to bring backpacks to class as in previous years, which has made a lot of us angry. If we are not allowed to use backpacks it is harder to carry around all of the necessary school supplies needed for class or other things such as water bottles, feminine products, or snacks, etc. Removing the backpack option will also likely affect student attendance poorly as we will have to stop at our locker, which some students still struggle to open, between every class and if our classes are far apart or we are crossing then we will already be in a hurry but we will have to stop at our locker because even carrying the stuff for one class will likely be hassle. The lost and found will also probably be affected by this new rule as it is much easier to drop things and loose them if you are carrying them in your hands rather than in a backpack. Backpacks caused a lot less problems in the past then not having them will cause in the future, the hallways may have been a little bit crowded but that was more because of huge crowds of students not their bags and in class rooms we have always been able to put our backpacks under our seats but what will we do with all of our loose stuff now? 

I think that taking away backpacks will cause more problems then it solves for both students and staff who don't want to deal with lost things and late students. Middle school students need a lot more thing than people think. Also in previous years a lot of students didn't use their lockers at all as they where in inconvenient, out of the way places, or in the middle of the hall where no-one wants to stop and get their things. Along with the fact that Twin Oaks Middle School students form across the street will still be allowed to bring their backpacks to Hidden Oaks either way which seems hypocritical We have been using backpacks since Kindergarten why stop now when they are the most needed. Other students and I strongly believe that backpacks are the better option and we will work to bring them back
