Our hearts are heavy with the loss of our beloved boys here in Bartow County, the very place that holds countless memories of joy and love with our four boys. With grief and remembrance in our hearts, we erected memorials to honor our cherished sons, who only passed this past september, only to be now getting told we must remove them and pay $100 for regulation-compliant crosses if we want the memorial up. This is not just about crosses or regulations; it's about recognizing the lives lost and allowing us a place to grieve and remember.

Memorials serve as a vital space for healing, not only for grieving families but for the community that shares in the loss. These boys were immensely loved   Forbidding these memorials or restricting them with burdensome fees for plain crosses is a display of misplaced priorities and indifference. Where was this when there was complains about the light? It's painful to feel that the regulation of memorial crosses outweighs the significance of preserving the memory of our children who meant the world to us.

We understand the need for community guidelines and aesthetics, and we are ready to work with the County to find a compromise. We are willing to tone down the memorials to fit county standards while still honoring our boys in a respectful way. A flexible approach would allow us to honor our children without causing disruption or offense. We want it to represent our kids and who they were. 

We call upon Bartow County to reconsider this decision and work with us to create a compassionate compromise. Let's prioritize the memories and legacies of these young lives over mere regulatory concerns. Let’s show that our community values empathy over enforcement and memorials over mandates.
