My Name is Matilda and I am from Queensland, Australia. My mum and I have been doing skipping for most of our lives. At my primary school, my mum ran the skipping club called the Jumping Beens. I was in this from Prep to Grade 6. It was very hard for me when I finished primary and moved to a new high school where they didn’t have a skipping club. My goal is to get Skipping into the Olympics by 2032, (When I am 22 years old) so that me, my friends, and many others can compete. Australia has the top skippers in the world, which is why it should be introduced here. Skipping requires the same skill, accuracy, and speed that gymnastics and diving does. If we get enough signatures, we can get skipping to become the new sporting sensation. If they put Skateboarding in the Olympics, then why not skipping? It is a great, underrated sport that deserves to become more popular. So come on! Rise up and make a difference by signing this petition!
