Study leave for Scotland’s State Schools 2021
The Issue
Are you aware that Glasgow City Council and countless other council areas have deprived their children of study leave? Scotland’s 200,000+ state school pupils have been told that they will not receive study leave for their SQA ‘assessments’.
On the 8th of December last year, our pupils were told that their exams would not go ahead, however we sit here now, nearing May, preparing for our so called ‘cancelled’ exams. Glasgow City Council and the many of the other council areas in scotland informed their schools that study leave will not be authorised this year, meaning pupils are left to study in distracting, unproductive and highly stressful classroom environments. However, those with the privilege of attending private schools, are not dealt the same disadvantage. Sign our petition to help reverse this inequality.
