Football is traditionally considered a uniting force, transcending political disputes and territorial conflicts. In light of the long holding conflicts in Ukraine, we understand the pressure UEFA was under. However, despite knowing of the cruel actions from the Russians, I think banning Russian Football teams from participating in the Champions League, Europa League, and Conference League consequently harms the integrity of the sport. The absence directly affects football players, staff, and the significant fan base, who are not participants in the political arena. It is essential to note that these proposed bans are contrary to the spirit of the game that thrives on unity, inclusivity and fair play. It is also worth highlighting that the values cherished by UEFA - respect, unity, and solidarity - would not be fully upheld by keeping such bans. Therefore, we humbly request that UEFA revisits its decision regarding Russian Football teams and allows their participation. This action would reaffirm the trust in football and UEFA as systems that prize sportsmanship over politics. Please sign the petition to defend football values. Over that it shows how much this ban affects Top-Class football when you look at the five year table. The Russian League once was one of the best European Leagues. However because of the ban the already slipped down by almost twenty places. This makes me sad because it isn’t the fault of the football clubs that Russia declared war. I even am against the Russians in the war myself but I think that football should connect and not split.
