As a student of EO Smith high school, being restricted to only using school issued Chromebooks sucks. I hate constantly being surveilled by a Go Guardian, a application that constantly spies on us, even outside school. It can see information such as location dat, microphones and even webcams. I believe as high schoolers, we should be allowed the freedom of technology. If our school constantly watches us, kids will find ways to get around the system and possibly break school technology.  If a student gets caught cheating, they should be held accountable. I and many students think it is a privacy violation to be surveilled by this company. 

Moreover, some students work and focus better on devices such as iPads with a touch screen. Allowing kids to have this freedom will encourage learning better than constant restriction.

Highschool is all about preparation for University. In college students are allowed personal devices. If they are caught cheating or plagiarizing, they can face expulsion. Holding students accountable for their actions rather than restrictions will foster a more positive learning environment.
