The Issue

During my time studying here in Provo, UT, I have witnessed countless friends face the frustrating experience of receiving parking tickets or, even worse, having their cars booted or towed. As college students, every dollar counts and unexpected fines can have a serious detrimental impact on our financial wellbeing and mental health.

Currently, parking on 450 N is a challenge, with limited legal parking spaces available for the numerous students attending nearby colleges. This creates a stressful and often chaotic situation as students scramble to find parking, often resulting in them parking illegally and facing fines as a consequence. It's a vicious cycle that urgently needs attention.

Allowing parking on North Seven Peaks Boulevard would provide much-needed relief and create additional parking opportunities for students. Not only would this alleviate the stress associated with searching for legal parking spaces, but it would also bless the daily lives of students and improve their overall safety while navigating to and from their classes.

Provo is a city known for its student population and vibrant community, and it is essential that we work together to accommodate the needs of students who are striving to better their educations and their futures. By opening up North Seven Peaks Blvd to student parking, we acknowledge and respect the needs of our student community, ensuring they have safe and accessible parking options.

This change is not only realistic but also actionable, and it would have an immediate positive impact on the lives of many students in Provo. Let us come together to make this parking proposal a reality and support the student community.

We urge the city authorities, especially Mayor Marsha Judkins and Provo's Parking Enforcement division, to seriously consider this proposal and take action to make parking on North Seven Peaks Blvd permissible, thereby reducing the financial strain and improving the mental health of countless students. Please sign this petition and lend your support to making student life in Provo more manageable and less stressful.
