As a student myself, I have always felt that our school community could benefit from the freedom and trust instilled by having open campus lunch privileges similar to those provided to HB Woodlawn. Being in such close proximity to Ballston, we have the unique opportunity to enrich our lunchtime experience by visiting nearby establishments, whether that's enjoying a Starbucks treat or simply getting a breath of fresh air.

Allowing open campus lunch can foster a sense of responsibility and independence within students. Students who are trusted to return on time will develop the necessary skills to manage their own time effectively—a skill indispensable in both college and the working world. By restricting this opportunity, we are not only denying the pleasure of a more diverse lunch menu and experience but also stifling our personal growth.
