Allow McDonalds to completely redesign Ronald McDonald

The Issue

We are a group of concerned individuals who grew up enjoying McDonald's Happy Meals. McDonald’s has a rich history of being kid-friendly. From the countless toys in their Happy Meals to their dedicated child-friendly areas, the corporation has always catered to their youngest customers. This child-centric approach is crucial as approximately 20% of McDonald's sales are from their Happy Meals.

However, the mascot of this esteemed restaurant, Ronald McDonald, feels a bit dated and, frankly, could be unsettling to some children. Children are a core part of McDonald's customer base, and they deserve a mascot that they can relate to, admire, and feel comfortable around.

Ronald McDonald is a clown character used as the primary mascot of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain. He inhabits the fictional world of McDonaldland, with his friends Mayor McCheese, the Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie the Early Bird and The Fry Kids.

Many people work full-time making appearances as Ronald, visiting children in hospitals and attending regular events. At its height, there may have been as many as 300 full-time clowns at McDonald's restaurants. There are also Ronald McDonald Houses, where parents can stay overnight with their sick children in major hospitals across America.

Critics claimed that a clown mascot targeting children for fast food is unethical. A group of 550 physicians and other health professionals took out newspaper ads in 2011, saying that Ronald McDonald should be retired.

Ronald McDonald made vaguely fewer appearances since 2016 allegedly due to the 2016 clown sightings. However, as of 2017, he was still appearing at live events and on social media platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, and DeviantArt.

McDonald's emphasizes that Ronald McDonald is still involved in charitable work, particularly with Ronald McDonald Houses.

Ronald McDonald has been less prominent in recent advertising campaigns, with some speculating about the reasons for this.

Thus, I ask McDonald's to announce the start of the complete redesign of Ronald McDonald, A major improvement  could contribute positively to the McDonald's brand image and continue to foster a love for McDonald's in our community, just like we had growing up,

Some other McDonaldland characters, like Grimace and the Happy Meal box character, have seen increased visibility in recent years.
