As a citizen deeply opposed to the ongoing genocide in Palestine and Lebanon, I am both appalled and heartbroken by the restriction on freedom of speech and expression that seems to permeate our societies today. The UK, known for its rich history of protecting human rights and freedoms, has a moral obligation not to stifle voices that call for peace, justice, and accountability. It is in this spirit that I urge the UK government to ensure Hasan and Cenk  are allowed entry to address these critical issues.

Hasan and Cenk are prominent figures on the left with a substantial following. Their stance against the atrocities occurring in Gaza is crucial as it embodies a call for humanitarianism over conflict. Denying them entry undercuts the principle of open discourse and academic freedom, which are hallmarks of a true democratic society.

In recent years, the discourse surrounding Middle Eastern conflicts has become heavily monitored and, at times, censored, both online and in public. This is deeply concerning, as it inhibits a true understanding of complex geopolitical issues and silences narratives that are vital for change and progress. By allowing Hasan Piker and Cenk Uygur entry, the UK will take a stand against censorship and reaffirm its commitment to supporting a global dialogue on peace and justice.
