Allow greater transparency with QLD parliamentary petitions

Allow greater transparency with QLD parliamentary petitions
The issue
At present, e-Petitions to the Queensland Parliament do not provide citizens from within a specific electorate the ability to make known their views on topics of State-wide interest, to their own local MP, in a publicly accountable way (letters are good BUT nobody really know HOW MANY people have written to the MP on the topic).
While petitions can be raised by "Electors of ..." (a specific electorate), due to parliamentary standing orders allowing only one petition at a time on very similar topics, this could limit the ability of other people outside that electorate from raising the same issue if they feel the need.
On the other hand, when the issue is raised by "Citizens of Queensland" then the total number of signatories is shown publicly but there is no breakdown of how those signatures are distributed amongst all the electorates within the state.
To solve this issue, the "E-PETITION TRANSPARENCY" petition has been raised on the Queensland Parliament website. If you support the idea, feel free to sign here, but even more importantly, go to the official parliamentary petition (as linked above) and sign there as well (PROVIDING you are ELIGIBLE as an enrolled VOTER in QUEENSLAND).
