Allow Frazier Drive community input on proposed housing development

Allow Frazier Drive community input on proposed housing development
The Issue
The residents and homeowners of the Frazier Drive community in Baldwin County Georgia are raising a fundamental concern: the lack of opportunity to make our voices heard regarding the proposed housing development planned for Frazier Woods. This proposal, which directly impacts our daily lives and environment, seems to have been pushed forward without sufficient transparency or community involvement. It's our right and responsibility as engaged citizens to be informed and actively contribute to decisions affecting our neighborhood.
Our community was not made adequately aware of the details of this development, nor were we given a fair chance to participate in shaping its inception. This lack of communication not only undermines our trust in local governance but also robs us of the opportunity to exert meaningful input on issues that will inevitably affect the character and resources of our beloved community.
Additionally, transparency about the planning process and the proposed project's details is crucial. Open, candid discussions and accessible information will prove beneficial in fostering trust and understanding between developers, government, and our community members.
We want to be clear that we do not oppose the Rural Housing Initiative.
Our concerns relate to the grant accompanying this development does not include infrastructure upgrades to the existing water and sewer infrastructure, a traffic study has not been conducted and lastly how will this development affect the existing property values for tax purposes. This development being affordable housing is entirely conditional on this grant being approved by the county and development cannot be denied because it is private property and meets all land use codes. If the citizens of this district are assisted in the home buying process and there are no platforms in place to assist them in the purchasing process, this development will undoubtedly contribute to the gentrification of this area.
We are calling on the Baldwin County Georgia Board of Commissioners and all pertinent parties to arrange a formal meeting with our community, offering us the platform we deserve to discuss the implications of this development. We wish to voice our concerns and contribute thoughtfully to any potential plans, ensuring that any decision made is in harmony with the residents' best interests and the long-term sustainability of Frazier Woods.
This is not simply a matter of legal obligation but a moral one, ensuring respect and cooperation among all stakeholders involved. Stand with us in demanding an inclusive and transparent decision-making process from our local authorities.
